Cascina Baricchi has received some harsh reviews lately, we have so far only tasted the wine bottle Il tappocorona which we thought really good about - eating habits and refreshing. It is supposed to judge a producer after his easiest wines as we continue to tackle the next level in the range of steps: Dolcetto d'Alba.
Natale Simonetta seems to be a passionate winemaker with great experiment - the product range includes both champagne and ice wine-interpretations. He is housed in Neviglie near Barbaresco and produces a total of 35 000 bottles a year, Dolcetto he makes 4000 bottles.
color is customary purple-blue but rather sheer. The scent lay out a sweet fruit curtain with frutti di bosco and some juicy reduktivitet a'la italo-pinot. One or other mineral whiff sweeps also passed.
acids are selected but the fruit fills out in an exemplary manner, almost chewable that of a stylish lakritspendang and nice grapefruit bitterness that connects to the bit at the end. All in all an excellent Dolcetto in fruity and pure style.
Swedish importer avatar is totally out there and flying in pricing with 164 SEK. Helps instead Carlo Merolli that "ryde op" so you pay a pleasant 75 SEK / DKK.
